The other day, a woman here at work and I were talking about concerts we've attended and ones we wish we had. That got me to thinking...I've been to A LOT of concerts! And looking at my list, it's funny to me how diverse my taste in music is. Even when I was in high school and listening to rock, I loved Neil Diamond.

Sammy Davis Jr. - I have the best story about this concert...when he sang "Candy Man", he was standing on stage passing out chocolate candy kisses. So I ran up and got one. I don't know, maybe I was about 13. Anyway, I put that candy kiss in my jewelry box for safe keeping. It was a treasure to me. Fast forward 3/4 years...my little brother, for some reason, looked in my jewelry box. Oh, I know you know where this is going...HE ATE IT! I was angry with him for years.

I love the fair

The one time every year I actually get to eat an elephant ear. Ahhhhh. Oh, the fair? Yes, it was okay too ;-)

We went early on Saturday, so we could do the 2 mile "heart health" walk with Indiana's First Lady. ugh, it was so stinkin' humid! blech. After the walk, we checked out pioneer village. That was neat. We didn't really go in too many of the animal barns though. We were only there for about 3 hours. It was just too icky out. Oh, and the other totally yummy fair food? Pit-tatoes. Have you ever heard of those? Wow were they delicious! Yeah, yeah, I know, it was kind of counter productive to walk for heart health and then eat fair food. Hey, at least it wasn't a sausage sandwich! Maybe we should try again this Saturday? It's only going to be 77. That sounds a lot nicer doesn't it?

I could have another elephant ear!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sugar. I love sugar. The best line in a movie...was John Travolta in Michael when he said to the dog, "remember Sparky, no matter what they tell you, you can never have too much sugar"

Did you know that a can of Guinness beer has a plastic ball in it? That's the weirdest thing I ever heard of!

What's better than watching two people you care about, make a life long commitment to each other? All that love...good stuff man!

Things are moving right along. Got our airline tickets, hotel reservations for one night in Vegas ($25 at The Tropicana!!) , car reservation and the kennel lined up for the dogs. Just need to book the reservation in Laughlin now. I'm SO excited!!!

Well that was fun. But man was it steamy out last night. Thank heavens for the breeze!
He used 9 different guitars, that I counted. Bill says he's an excellent guitar player so that didn't surprise him.

Dierks Bentley was good. He has a lot of enthusiasm :-) bouncy like a puppy! And see that shirt he's got on? He had to tell us that he got it across the street at JC Pennys, along with new underwear and socks...he was happy. silly

He said, in regard to how much he appreciates his fans, that he's always so grateful, especially in today's economy, that "you would spend your money on a ticket to my show".

I'm sure he tells every crowd the same thing, but it was a great touch and why his fans think so much of him.

It was a good night out. It always surprises me how many country fans there are. I mean, this amphitheater holds about 22 thousand people and I'll bet it was filled!

My brother and future sister in law picked out their wedding invitation yesterday so I will be busy tomorrow finishing it up. I'm glad they liked it and I'm tickled pink to be the designer!

And the Brad Paisley concert is tomorrow night! I was so surprised when Bill said he would like to see him again :-) I love going to concerts. Journey and Heart are playing at the State Fair this year...that could be fun too. Mercy Me is going to be there too. They do my favorite song, "I Can Only Imagine". I also need to get on the ball and book the plane reservations for the wedding...tic toc...I can't wait!! I'm soooooo happy for my bubba and his gal pal. WOOHOO

And it's FRIDAY! Breakfast was delicious. mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Wild Hogs ~ day 5 (Monday)

They came home!!!!!!

That's all, they just rode for almost 10 hours. Didn't stop anywhere, except for gas stations.

He's got some stubble and lots of sun. Actually, he still has the stubble. I guess he'll keep it for a while. I don't mind yet. He looks pretty rugged :-) The girls were sure happy to see him! Poor Pepper, she's so pack oriented. Greta was a little bummed about being sent back down to the foot of the bed. hahaha

Hopefully, when we go to Laughlin we can board all 3 of them in the same 'room'. Poor Bud is so sad w/out Mom. Maybe he'll do better if he's with the girls.

It definitely needs some furniture, but at least all the tools and crap are out of it now.

No way!

I find it extremely hard to believe that the man and I have a larger than average carbon footprint. Especially considering that HALF of everything we throw away is JUNK MAIL. Come on now, if y'all are so worried about being green, stop sending me ads that I never look at and catalogs I didn't ask for and go straight to the trash. Really, I think I'll put a box in the garage and just throw all the junk mail in it for a month, just to see. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Or maybe it's just another way to get you to do whay they want! Boogers. I've been had!

Wild Hogs day 4

Today they did the Devil's Triangle. You can see that at the same link from the other day, about the dragons tail. It was another great day weather wise. Bill says he's not crazy about having a "home base" to come back to every day. He likes it better when they start fresh, some where new every morning. I can see that.

I've had a good weekend. I changed my viewing list. I watched Funny Girl, Remember the Titans, Twister, Signs, Runaway Bride and Camelot. Plus, I did a TON of house stuff. Everything but the windows. I hate the windows.

And the other night, I really appreciated the view from our sun room...

Wild Hogs ~ Day 2 and 3

Yesterday could have been a total bust. It rained all morning. But by the time they finished lunch, the sun was out and things were drying up. Since they only had a half a day, they decided to ride the Tail of the Dragon. If you don't know what that is, it's a super duper windy road, hundreds of twists and turns! He's told me about this several times over the last decade. I thinks it's really cool that they got to do it. They feel so macho now!!

Today, on a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 9 1/2. He only took a 1/2 off because they ran into some traffic. Other than that, the weather was superb and they got to see a lot of the southeastern area. He said the countryside is just beautiful. Of course, they are still riding through the mountains too. So far everyone is doing great, no mishaps or incidents. Whew!
