Hello, it's me!

sigh. Tomorrow is the 1st of August. AUGUST! Damn. I've really been enjoying the lighter summer traffic. That's the best part for me. Less dummies on the road.
Other things I love about summer include;
The backyard diner is a lot busier in the summer months. I love that. I'm not really a birder, but they're fun to watch. Sometimes, there will be 3 or 4 different kinds at once! Finches, sparrows, a woodpecker, a cardinal. And it's awesome now that we have the squirrel baffle on the pole. I was getting tired of feeding the squirrels!
Fireflies. But...not a fan of the cicadas! Ewwww. They're pretty loud at night right now. It hasn't been too bad though. Some years, I find their little shells stuck all over the house and fence. Icky.
Corn on the cob and the farmers market! YummmmmO
Sandals and bare feet. It's always nice to have naked toes.
Not driving to work in the dark :-)
Oh! and no static electricity!!!
And, we complain all the time that there's nothing on TV in the summer, but honestly, I don't mind that. I miss a couple of my favorites but for the most part, nope, I don't mind.

I got a lot of quilling done this month!

Plus, I'm finishing up  a little tulip thing for my favorite payroll person's bee day.
I just want to quill all the time! The more I do it, the more I want to!

randomness

Every once in awhile, I just have to get out all the little things I think about. So, you just get a bunch of random crap that doesn't tie together in any way.

* did you see the story a few weeks ago, about the woman who fell through a trap door in the sidewalk because she was looking at her phone? Here's the video;

I felt bad for her because I read that she was really injured, but come on!! Seriously, how could you not see the doors?? Stop it people!

* Umm, I think he just likes to be in the news, but that's just my opinion;

* This is an old article from a local sports writer. It makes sense to me but if I were his boss, I would've fired him!

* Can you figure this out?

ANSWER ME THIS: if Teresa’s daughter is my daughter's mother, who am i to Teresa?!?!?!?!!!
Before you go all crazy, here's the answer (highlight below)
If you guessed "daughter," you’re right. In this scenario, Teresa is the mom of the person asking the question. The riddle is just a more complicated way of saying "I am my mother’s daughter.

everything old is new again

This morning I received my weekly email newsletter from Live Nation.
I signed up for that because along with it, I get a lot of pre-sale codes for concert tickets.
Like the one I got last week for Bob Seger. I would LOVE to see him in concert...but I'm not spending $150 - $250 for a ticket. Holy crap! There must be A LOT of boomers out there who have a strong desire to relive their youth. Nah uh, not me! I'd rather eat and drink Blue Moon.

Anyway, here's a listing of the top concerts in my area this summer;

Foreigner w/Cheap Trick
Journey
Chicago & the Doobie Brothers
Boston w/Joan Jett
Hank Williams Jr & Lynyrd Skynyrd
Deep Purple and Alice Cooper
Billy Joel
Bob Seger
Styx & REO
Nickelback
Earth Wind and Fire and Chicago
John Mayer
Goo Goo Dolls
Train
Green Day
Plus some country artists.

Come on!! Alice Cooper?? The Doobie Brothers???
I would rather remember them when they were cool and could actually perform. You know, 40 years ago! Geez Louise!
