Wedded bliss :-)
What a delightful, lovely, wonderful and fun wedding!
Tears, laughter, joy and tons of love. What could be better than that? Not too much.
They wrote part of their vows and made everybody cry right along with them. So sweet. They are so blessed to have so many friends and people that love them. It was great to meet so many of them!
My brother and sister-in-law are the greatest people...there was an older couple getting married the same day and they only had a couple people with them so Jeff and Denae volunteered their wedding set up to them. Denae gave the woman her veil to wear and Jeff walked her down the isle. He got one of his friends to video tape it and another to take pictures. They're going to send them the video and the pictures. He says, "the more you give, the more you get back". Pretty good stuff.

Ain't love grand?
Tomorrow afternoon we'll be on our way to Laughlin!
I love weddings. I especially love that my baby brother has found the true version! And he's just so dang cute when he says "I love her so much!" *sigh* It's so sweet!
I CAN'T WAIT to see them 'take the plunge' on Saturday. And I'm looking forward to meeting all their friends. They call them selves "the fun group". I bet they are down right embarrassing to be around sometimes! Doesn't that sound great?!?!?!?! I love extroverts :-) And there's the added bonus of seeing my nieces and nephew too. Most of them are all grown up now. It's so weird how that happens.
Fox pee
Well, we got our fox pee last week. I carefully sprinkled it around the woodchucks hole and a little beyond, just to be safe. So far...NO woodchuck!! Woohoo. Although, after talking with a varmit terminator, I learned that their territory covers a lot of ground and they cycle through it. So it might spend a few days at our burrow and then move on to the neighboring burrow etc. Then it will start over. So it could be coincidental that it's not around right now. OR it could be that we didn't really need to buy any fox pee because we have a real live one! I saw it this morning. It didn't seemed to be bothered by my presence and was pretty casual. But I'm happy to think that perhaps, the real red fox has accommodated us by eating the pesky woodchuck!

Salt Lake City- A Salt Lake City woman who held a Guinness World Record for her long fingernails before they broke off in a car crash says it was the most dramatic event of her life.
But Lee Redmond, who lost the fingernails in February, says it's now much easier to do things and her hands seem to fly with the weight of the nails gone.
The 68-year-old won't grow her nails out again, saying it took 30 years the first time and she may not live for another 30.

You know why? Of course you don't. But I'll whine and tell you. Because I broke my toe, that's why. STUPID BED LEG. Now my foot is blue and swollen and HURTS! Whew, now I feel better. I've been wanting to whine about it for 2 days now. Actually, it feels better with shoes on. So we spent the weekend doing house chores and bagging leaves. It doesn't seem like we should be doing that already. I mean, it's not officially Autumn until tomorrow. And I got a jump on next weekends stuff. Charged up the camcorder, got batteries for the camera etc. It was still a good weekend, but dang! STUPID TOE.

Fun things
Lot's of fun stuff to do this weekend! Well, except for taking the dogs in to get their shots.
There's Irish Fest downtown. I walked by there at lunch today and it looks like a pretty big event. I think we should go, it's going to be so pretty out. Then there's the big auction;
Whatever is earned from the auction goes to pay the Internal Revenue Service the money authorities say former business woman Susan Ellis owes them.
Authorities say Ellis owed the government over $2 million and was fined $1.2 million. The government believes Ellis went on a big buying spree before entering prison, spending upward of $200,000. They've already auctioned off a boat, jet skis and other property.
This weekend's auction is how the government will get some of its money back - by putting her expensive items on the auction block.
Meantime, it's a designer label fashionista's dream come true.
"We have fur coats. We have designer jewelry, designer hand bags, designer clothing from the most famous designers in the world."
None of us have ever been to an auction...it could be fun!
And...I need to finish up getting ready to leave for bubba's wedding!
Yep, lots of good stuff to do.

WICHITA, Kan. - A tender moment in a trash bin went all wrong for a couple who found themselves being held up at pocket knife point.
Police said two 44-year-olds had climbed into a dumpster to be alone just after 6 p.m. Saturday when two men interrupted them and demanded their belongings. Officers said the man and woman were engaged in "an intimate moment" when they were robbed of their shoes, jewelry and the man's wallet.
I'm not really looking for things that make me scratch my head, honest. Maybe they were homeless and doing it in a trash bin just didn't seem all that bizarre? Not even in my wild inebriated youth would this have been a "go for it" kind of moment! Ick.

Dirty Dancing
Dirty Dancing is one of my top 10 favorite movies. I bet I've seen at least 2 dozen times.

Wasn't Patrick Swayze great in both of those? Oh, the man said not to forget Road House. To each his own. Anyway, even he was saddened by the news of his death. He said it was hard not to pull for him because he was such a likable guy and he was so determined.
I guess you all know what movies I'll be watching this weekend!!!

Old vs New
First of all, the car show was this last Saturday, not the weekend before. The weather was great, sunny, low humidity, nice breeze. Bill said it was a lot more fun than he anticipated it would be. You know, sometimes small town local things are kind of dorky. They had some really great old cars though. I think the thing that really struck me was that most of them were not restored. They were simply in perfect condition. How does that happen? Anyway, they also had a section of what the man referred to as "bad ASS" cars. There were the usual suspects, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche. But...they also had several Lotus. Whoa. Now those are cool!!
My next old vs new thing is...toilets. So, we live in a house that was built in 1971. It has 2 bathrooms. In one, the toilet is a couple years old, and tall. I like it. The other, is O*L*D. The plumber said at least 20 years. He also told us it would have to be replaced soon ~ it just didn't the have the oomph it used to. Plus, it was big and used a lot of water. We replaced it last weekend. Every time I flush the new one, I'm amazed at how well it works. I know that's dumb but I just got used to the old one. Like the new fridge. The old one was just fine, but the new one has an ice maker! And I still don't mind doing the dishes in the sink. I mean, there's only 2 of us. So the new dishwasher is great, but it's one of those things I could live without.
And my last old vs new thing...food. Did you ever like Spegettio's and Chef Boyardee raviolis when you were younger? Do you remember the snack, Bugles? Those are SO icky by the way.
When was the last time you ate those? I can't even tell you when the last time was for me...35/40 years ago? And I can't tell you what came over me to want them this weekend! Early in the morning on September 11, 2001, nineteen hijackers took control of four commercial airliners en route to San Francisco and Los Angeles from Boston, Newark, and Washington, D.C. (Washington Dulles International Airport).
At 8:46 a.m., American Airlines Flight 11 was crashed into the World Trade Center's North Tower, followed by United Airlines Flight 175 which hit the South Tower at 9:03 a.m. Another group of hijackers flew American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. A fourth flight, United Airlines Flight 93, whose ultimate target was thought to be either the United States Capitol or White House, crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania at 10:03 a.m, after the passengers on board engaged in a fight with the hijackers.
The south tower fell at approximately 9:59 a.m., after burning for 56 minutes in a fire caused by the impact of United Airlines Flight 175. The north tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m., after burning for approximately 102 minutes.
There were a total of 2,993 deaths, including the 19 hijackers:
246 on the four planes (from which there were no survivors),
2,603 in New York City in the towers and on the ground,
and 125 at the Pentagon. An additional 24 people remain listed as missing.
At least 200 people jumped to their deaths from the burning towers, landing on the streets and rooftops of adjacent buildings hundreds of feet below.
A total of 411 emergency workers who responded to the scene died as they attempted to rescue people and fight fires. The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) lost 341 firefighters and 2 FDNY paramedics. The New York City Police Department lost 23 officers. The Port Authority Police Department lost 37 officers, and 8 additional EMTs and paramedics from private EMS units were killed.
