ruff!

Dogs are so amazing. Well, all creatures are amazing in their own way…but dogs rule!
They’re capable of such love.

You know I love our dogs. They make us laugh every single day for some reason or another. And they have such expressive little furry faces.

Greta is 9 years old now. For 9 years, I’ve been playing hide and seek with her. Pepper will be 5 this year. She started to join in about 3 years ago. So, here’s what we do. The man keeps them occupied and I go and hide someplace in the house. When I’m out of sight, I knock on the wall and the man says, “where’s da mama?!” And they run off to find me. Sometimes it’s easy – they know most of my hiding places now. Last night was different though. I was putting the laundry away and hanging things up in the new walk-in closet. Greta was laying on the floor in front of the bedroom door. She always guards the door when I'm in the bedroom or the shower. When I was done, I turned out the light and hid behind the tall bar of clothes to the right of the door. I waited for a minute and then I knocked on the wall. Greta came running into the closet, stopped, listened, looked around and ran out. About a 30 seconds later she came back in, sat down just inside the door, staring straight ahead, waited a few seconds, and then let out her biggest bark, sneezed and shook her head. I know what she was thinking…ruff, I KNOW you didn’t leave the bedroom…grrrr…I can smell you…where are you dammit! BARK!!
I just had to laugh. She found me right away then J

Oh my!

First let me say, get a flu shot people! I missed 3 days of work and an entire weekend because of the flu. It stinks and being sick is a waste of time. I just slept the whole time. I could have watched movies. I could have read one of a couple dozen books that are waiting for me. I could have been quilling. But noooooooo. I couldn't focus on anything. Once, after I had become one with the couch, I was surfing through all the TV channels and I came across a rerun of Hee Haw. When it was on originally, I probably watched a half dozen episodes. I wasn't a fan of country anything back then but they were just so silly, sometimes you had to stop and look. Sooooo, I stopped on Hee Haw. There's just so much I could say about what I saw but instead, I'll simply show you a picture;

See what I mean?!

Things you didn't know I loved!

Dreadlocks
On almost anybody. I don't want them but I've always thought they were so cool.

Paisley
Any color or style. I love paisley prints!

Caftans (moo moos)
I don't know why. Maybe it's a leftover hippie thing? I want one.

Lemon cookies
You know the ones with the powdered sugar on them? mmmmmmmm
I hardly ever have them - I forget about them, which is so dumb!

Bird Watching
I could just watch the birds at our feeder for hours. We have a wide variety of them to it's pretty interesting. I also love the eagle cam at Catalina Island.

Crocheted things
Oh, and macrame too! Go figure.

Infomercials
All of them. I want to buy everything I see on infomercials! I'm pretty sure my husband knows that one though. I see him looking at me every once in awhile when there's one on TV. LOL

Cottage Cheese
It doesn't even matter what size curd. I love them big or small.

Purple
I'm sure you ALL know by now that I love lime green but my very first favorite color was purple. I still love purple too :-)

Sweet Tea
I had sweet tea for the first time, last summer. OMG! If it wasn't so bad, I would never drink anything else! As it is, I limit myself to restaurants...so I don't have it very often.

Throws
Yep, those little blankets. I bet I have a dozen of them. I don't even use them! They're just so cute!

Black and White
But not black and white photographs. I have a lot of black and white clothes. Why is that? Maybe it's the patterns. It's definitely NOT because I'm a black and white thinker. Hmmmm.

*sigh* Get a flu shot!

there, I said it...get a flu shot. I concede.

Ugh. I have a little sign in my house that says, "old age ain't for sissies"
No kidding. I'm not nearly as resilient as I used to be! And the flu didn't use to kick my butt the way it does now.

So, get a flu shot!

JOY

I love pens. Especially fat pens, pens that write nice, blue ink pens and colored pens. I buy pens all the time. I buy pens more now then I used to because of GEL!! The colors got even better! Imagine my delight when I saw this commercial the other day:

inkjoy???? Oh yeah...those were made just for ME!!  It's a brand of pens by Paper Mate. Seriously, ink JOY? Ahhhh. So I bought a couple packs!

And I love this commercial so much - because I'm a doodler - that last night I got on Amazon and bought myself a Spirograph!!

I can't wait to doodle my little heart out!!!

Ooops, I almost forgot - check out THIS fabulous pen!!!

That's right...it will last for SEVEN YEARS! But the best part is the Bee HAPPY...  :-)

HA!!

Growing up I was always told to finish what you start. I hated that! Sometimes I just wanted to color the bunny and not the grass or trees. As I got older, some books took me forever to get through because I didn’t like them. But I felt like I had to finish them.
Now I’m totally a rebel about it. If it doesn’t catch my interest in the first couple of chapters, I bail. Same for a movie. After about a ½ hour, sayonara! I can’t tell you how many projects I’ve have started that aren’t finished. Turns out, it’s OK!!

The other thing I was told when I was young was to stop daydreaming so much! I’m still a daydreamer though. And look! Turns out that’s OK too!! It’s a happy Monday!

The rewards of daydreaming;
“These rewards include self- awareness, creative incubation, improvisation and evaluation, memory consolidation, autobiographical planning, goal driven thought, future planning, retrieval of deeply personal memories, reflective consideration of the meaning of events and experiences, simulating the perspective of another person, evaluating the implications of self and others’ emotional reactions, moral reasoning, and reflective compassion... From this personal perspective, it is much easier to understand why people are drawn to mind wandering and willing to invest nearly 50 percent of their waking hours engaged in it”
