faster than a speeding bullet!

That's how fast the year is going! Dang! It's almost July and I feel like we were just complaining about winter taking forever to leave.

Our little knucklehead birds are back, the ones who built their nest next to the front door last year. This year, we bought them a birdhouse and they are busily building their nest inside. It's nice to watch. I've been busy quilling. Not for anything in particular, just because I like to.

This paper is kind of sparkly. I love it!

I did this one awhile ago. It didn't work out when I got to the bottom so I think I need to make my flowers a little smaller.

I thought this was going to take a loooong time. It actually only took about 3 hours!

I did this one for a co-worker who is especially helpful. I gave it to her for her bday.
One lucky clover...
one not :-)
I've wanted to do a red, white and blue one for awhile now..

and look at this cute gnome

Even though I already did one, I didn't like it very much, so I did another one.
 I like this one much better!!

This bowl took me a bout a month, off and on. I wish I knew what I was going to do with it!

Besides that, where I work is changing a lot. Many of the top dogs have left in the last few months. It makes everyone feel unsettled. Plus, the newbies don't know what they don't know and that makes it frustrating for those of us that do know. I couldn't be a boss anymore. I don't have that kind of patience for people. It's a crappy attitude, I know. It probably also contributes to the reason I can't keep friends.

scratching my head

Millennials, in general, are just contrary. It cracks me up all the time how the irony is lost on them.

I mean, here there are, spouting self love and self esteem and self importance. That it's ok to be different. Fat, thin, freckles, birthmarks, big noses, thin hair, whatever. But they're spending billions on botox, boob jobs, hair extensions and lip fillers so they can look perfect and "feel good" about themselves. They know full well that ads are untrue and photo shopped, yet they still buy into the whole image thing. They say, be kind to everyone, that they believe in the universe, and you should help people when you can but God forbid they give up their daily Starbucks and donate that money to a worthy cause. Geesh!

When things work!

I'm such a sceptic that when something actually works like the ad says it will, I'm so impressed and happy! That probably says something about our culture, but, anyway....

Kaboom use to make this toilet bowl cleaner that was amazing! I loved that stuff. They stopped making it, maybe during the pandemic, so now I'm using an inferior product and it pisses me off! I've yet to find an allergy medicine that works like they say it will. Even non-stick pans aren't really non-stick. I bought a quilling tool a couple years ago. It's battery operated and is suppose to twirl my paper for me! How awesome! Ha!! It doesn't work. Also pissed me off.

Things that work;

Imodium is like some kind of miracle medicine! Works every single time!

I have this new silicone matt for the microwave. I got it to use as a sort of pot holder when I took something out of there. It works so great! happy me  :-)

Last year we bought some ant killer to put around the house. We have 90 trillion ants! This stuff works extra good! It's keeping them away!

A couple years ago I was diagnosed with this eye thing called Fuchs Dystrophy. My eye Dr. recommend some OTC eye drops. I don't have to use them very often but this morning I did and boom! I could see! No expensive Rx, just some over the counter thing. Cool!

And if you've been mucking around in the poison ivy, Fels-Naptha soap actually helps.

A couple months ago, we bought a neck massager for my guy. He was totally skeptical. Surprisingly, he loves that sucker!! He said it's wonderful! Wow!

On a whim, I purchased these dumb plastic things that sort of look like zip ties, only they're about 20 inches long and have that little barb all the way up, on both sides. They're for your sink drain - pulling out the hair. They work unbelievably well.

It's nice to be pleasantly surprised when things work.

What are you watching...(part 3)

We watch a lot of stuff we just bail out on. Sometimes we hang in there till the end and then wonder, why did we do that?

Other than vacation, we spend a lot of time at home. Sometimes I'm quilling or doodling or coloring. And now that Spring/Summer is here, we're doing more outside of the house. But during the long Winter/Spring, yucky weather days...

We just starting watching the new season of Alone, on the History channel. And we're watching Master Chef - adult and kid versions. We're on our 3rd season of Warehouse 13, a fun sci-fi series and started watching a series called Unforgettable. It's about a female cop who remembers everything she sees. It's pretty good for a cop show. My fella just finished watching the whole series, Monk. He loves Monk. :-)

On Netflix;
* a series called The Lincoln Lawyer. I really like it. It's interesting to see/hear about all the little tricks lawyers use to win their cases.
* Night Sky. the new sci-fi series with Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons. I loved their characters. I needed a little more from the story though. It just didn't tell me enough, soon enough. I enjoyed it though.
* Then there was the new series with Josh Brolin, Outer Range. I just don't know how I feel about this series! It definitely sucked me in but I spent the whole time saying - out loud to the tv- but what's the deal with the hole?! Ugh. It was so frustrating because I couldn't figure it out. Then, when you get the big reveal at the end, I was left slack jawed, pissed off and torn between being confused or satisfied! Holy hell!! What kind of story is that?! Honestly though, if they do a 2nd season, I'm definitely going to watch.
* and if you haven't watched The Queen's Gambit, you should. Who knew chess could be so exciting!
* Ricky Gervais new stand up act on Netflix was outrageously crude and funny at times. He's kind of like Don Rickles, on steroids. I don't always like his humor but I like him. Really, he loves his gal pal and his Instagram page is full of pictures of Pickles, his cat. How can you not like a man who only says nice things about his woman and loves animals?!
* Also, I really loved the series Locke and Key. It's a little horror/fantasy/adventure series about the Locke family and all the mysterious keys they've found and created over the centuries. Love this one more than Stranger Things! It's like a puzzle. There are 2 seasons with a 3rd and final season coming this fall.
* Red Notice stars Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, is an action/comedy, very fun for a buddy movie.
* St. Vincent with Bill Murray. Also predictable but I liked Bill Murray as the crusty old man.
* Self/less, with Ryan Reynolds and Ben Kinglsey. It was an exciting action (shoot 'em up) movie.
* The Adam Project was another really fun action movie with Ryan Reynolds. Very predictable though.
* The Starling It didn't get very good reviews but I really liked this one. It was serious, funny, sad and honest.
* 6 Underground It was another good "guy" movie. I watched some of it but it was a little too much for me. I like Ryan Reynolds though.
* Enola Holmes super fun story telling about Sherlock's younger sister
* There's a Sandra Bullock movie called, The Unforgivable. It sounded good...it wasn't. And by the way, her new movie, Lost City, with Channing Tatum. P U! It was so predictable and dumb for a Romcom. I don't remember where watched it.

On Hulu;
* In the Heart Of the Sea is the story about the crew that inspired the book, Moby Dick. thumbs up for this one.

On Prime Video
* The Tomorrow Man with Chris Pratt was a pretty good sci-fi movie. The concept was a little hard to follow but once you got it, it was ok.
* Since we watched the first one, and thought it was 'meh' we watched the 2nd The Quiet Place. You know, we were hoping the story would get better. It didn't. But we watched until the end, for something to do.
* Bliss OMG! Don't bother! It was SO weird and hard to follow. yuck.
* The Protégé with Samuel L Jackson, Michael Keaton and Maggie Q. Another shoot 'em up/action/thriller but I watched most of this one and it was ok for what it was.
* Love and Monsters was just a fun little apocalyptic movie about a young man who risks his life to meet the woman of his dreams. I was always rooting for him.
The Tender Bar  w/Ben Affleck was slow but it was a nice story. Even I get tired of all of the special effects movies, so a nice story really hits the spot every now and then.
* Pain & Gain with Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg...It was so dumb, my fella couldn't watch the whole thing!
* Unhinged with Russell Crowe as the bad guy in this road rage gone bad story. Wow did I hate his character in this one!
* Poms is about a group of older women at a seniors center. If you're just looking for a fluffy, feel good movie, (and you're old) check it out. It's predictable but fun to watch old ladies be sassy.
* Mr. Brooks starring Kevin Costner as a serial killer? Creepy!! It was just ok.

In other places I can't remember;
* Ghostbusters III was ok. The girl version is still my favorite sequel though. Not because the cast was all female, but it was just funny as hell.
* The Road I thought the book was hard to get through! This movie is so dreary and depressing.
* Old This is the new M. Night Shyamalan movie. Weird and surprising. I loved it and I don't think all of his stuff is that great. This one's surprise ending really made me go, whhaaaat?!
Bottle Shock Hmmm. This is about that famous blind taste test in France that the Napa Valley wine, won. It was kind of fun, especially if you like to root for the underdogs. The peripheral stories were dumb though.

I wish they would/could change up the formula, when writing a script for a movie though. Sometimes I can call who the villain is, in the first 15/20 minutes! Sometimes you know right where that movie is going after 10 minutes. I miss the anticipation in a good story. I hope the 2nd half of the year brings some better finds :-)

I am legend!

 Hahahahahahahahaha!!

No really. It's the funniest thing ever!

Friday is National Donut Day!

Seven (7) years ago, just for fun, I took the day off and went on a donut quest with my fella. He loves pastry. I thought it would be a fun adventure. We drove all around the city, all day, trying to eat donuts!

 https://indyscootergirl.blogspot.com/2015/06/quests-are-hard.html

didn't know until a month or so ago, I am a legend at work because of this. People are still saying, did you know she took the day off on National Donut Day....? That is soooooo hilarious!!! Anyway, I found this out because the supervisors got to together and bought me donuts on Admin Day. Two dozen of them. One of the newbie supervisors said, "I didn't know you liked donuts so much!" and another told her all about my donut quest. I think donuts are ok but whenever it's my birthday or Admins Day, I always get donuts. Everyone thinks I love donuts because I went on a donut quest! I don't have the heart to tell them, I don't really like donuts that much. I really appreciate their thoughtfulness :-)

I always wanted to be known for something cool. I guess this is it!
