Hmph

I'm kind of grouchy today. Hmmmmm. I'm not sure why either.
Oh, maybe it was Pepper. She was very fidgety last night. I think she was a little distressed that Bill didn't come home. She kept looking out the front window and hanging out in the living room. When I went to bed, she kept jumping off the bed and then coming back. I finally had to close the bedroom door so she would stay put. Not Greta, she was happy to snuggle in closer. Usually they sleep at the foot of mattress. Last night, Greta was happily snuggled up to my tummy. Pepper slept ON Bill's pillow. hahahahahahahaha. Yes, I'll change his pillow case when he gets home! Geez. I heard you wondering if I would!!! I guess tonight I'll go on a longer walk with them. They aren't used to being cooped up in the sun room allllllllll day. Trust me, it's a pretty comfy set up. But definitely not like having free reign in the house and a chance to go out when Bill comes home for lunch. Yeah, they are ALL spoiled!

Wild Hogs ~ day 1

They left about 6:00 this morning, but they did stop around 8 and have breakfast at Cracker Barrel. They've reached their destination for the day, Knoxville.

Since they took mostly back roads, and they're easily distracted, it took them most of the day to go about 400 miles. So far so good.

He LOVES his new helmet! Hooray! Maybe now he'll wear it more. Well, he has to wear it this whole trip because every state they are going to ride in, has a helmet law. Good. And there's only 3 of them this year and they're staying at a "home base". So every morning they'll start from Knoxville and head off in a different direction and then come back. I guess that's okay? I'll find out tomorrow if they like that or not.

It looks like they might get some rain tomorrow. I hope not. They really hate riding in the rain! duh.

All alone

Well, the big guy ride started this morning...wild hogs on the road!

That means I'm all alone for the next 5 days.

Funny Girl
Sound of Music
Dirty Dancing
Jesus Christ Superstar
Pretty Woman
Chicago
K-Pax
Steel Magnolias
Garth Brooks in concert
Signs
Remember the Titans...

Oh goodie goodie goodie!

Happy days are here again!

Hooray!!!! They brought back diet Vanilla Coke!!! Woohoo!!! I'm sooooooo happy :-)
Diet Vanilla Pepsi just doesn't work for me. I was oh so sad when they discontinued it. But yesterday I practically did a happy dance right there in the soda isle at the grocery store, when I found the new version...Vanilla Zero Coke! Yippee :-)~

We had a good weekend. Saturday Mom and I took Bill to his favorite all you can eat sushi place. Actually, it has a lot more than sushi, but that's the part he likes best. Then we watched The Incredible Hulk. It was fun, for a comic book movie.

Sunday we did house chores and Bill started getting ready for the big guy trip, Wild Hogs on the road! You know, riding and riding and riding and riding. 400 plus miles every day. This year they are headed southeast. He's leaving Thursday morning and won't be back until Monday night. In the past, the trip has been an entire week, so I'm glad it's shorter this year. I start to miss him about the 4th night. He's pretty excited this year. He has all the right gear! A brand new helmet and new motorcycle luggage.

While he's away, I'll be watching ALL my favorite chick flicks and musicals!! I might even squeeze in Gone With The Wind. Plus, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Camelot, Steel Magnolias, Chicago, and maybe even The Sound of Music. Talk about a sugar overload! hahahahahahaha. I guess I'll have to throw in a Die Hard movie just to counter act all that sweetness. I like his big guy trip almost as much as he does!

Ahhhhh

All that shoe talk made me want to see more! Shoes are like art - really! Just look at these...

Are these modern day Cinderella slippers?

And these are bright and cheery. How could you feel bad if you had these on your feet?

I'll admit that these next ones aren't my cup 'o tea, but I would still say that they're artful,

Oh man was it ever hard to resist ordering these!!

Oh OK, I know, who am I kidding. At this stage of life I wouldn't wear any of those. To tell you the truth, these are MUCH more my style,

your–pronoun

you're

contraction of you are: You're certain that's right?

Oh brother

Okay, you know the other day when I wrote about shoes? I should clarify...I don't really love ALL shoes. I don't like Crocs. I really don't like Crocs. I only mention that because this morning I found something even sillier...

Ummm, I don't even know what to say about these. I suppose it could be a good idea, but do you want to be the first in your town to try them out...publicly?
Yeah, I didn't think so.

Just stuff

Mean people suck.

Indianapolis has a ton of horrible drivers. I used to commute in California and never ran across the sheer rudeness from drivers that I do here. Maybe they are just afraid of being shot or run off the road in California, but still.

What's the point of mosquitoes? Do they serve any kind of purpose? I really despise mosquitoes.

Do you think it's true that the moral compass of today's youth has shifted and/or adjusted because of the times we live in? I mean, what I consider a terrible personal offense might not be such a big deal to a 20 something. I think that's interesting.

Did you know that it has become increasingly difficult to find gun ammunition in stores? Whoa. I know that personally and it's a little unsettling.

There are just some things that I'll never outgrow...I still love long hair on men~young and old alike, I still love gauze peasant tops, I still love to color ~ only I call it painting now, and I still love a good Disney movie.

I'm so happy that Robert Downy Jr. finally got his act together. I think he's sooooo cool and I can't wait for Iron Man 2 and Sherlock Holmes!!!

Disco didn't really suck and I'm not afraid to admit it!

The best laugh I've had in a week? When my husband said to me the other night, "I'm sorry I'm such an outlaw honey" Woowee was that ever funn-eeeee!!!! (this in regards to his getting a ticket on his motorcycle)

And this is currently my desktop picture at work;

And when it stops making me chuckle, every single morning, I'll change it. And it's just the picture that cracks me up, it could say anything and I wouldn't care. Man that bird is funny!

thought for the day

I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use. Toothpicks?

Thanks Mom!

Really?

Most everyone knows that I LOVE SHOES. And even though I don't own the quantity I did before I broke my ankle, I really truly just love shoes! Also, after 20 years of marraige, my passion for foot coverings has rubbed on off my man. I bet he owns at least a dozen pairs. That includes work boots though.

So I was a little curious about the results of this pole;

First, I would not have guessed that the average man actually has 7 pairs of shoes. And secondly, I honestly thought most women have more than 15 pairs. Especially if you live in a region where the climate changes with the seasons. I mean, I probably have 1/2 dozen pairs of sandals and another dozen pair of slip-ons for work ~ a couple pair of heels ~ a couple pair of tennies ~ 1/2 a dozen pairs of boots ~ another dozen pair of winter shoes. Is that wrong?

Love you!!!!!!

This song just tickles me...

You can listen to it here ~ http://peoplearecrazy.net/

This old man and me,
were at the bar and we
Were having us some beers
and swaping I don't cares
Talking politics, blonde and red-head chicks
Old dogs and new tricks and habits we aint kicked
We talked about Gods grace
and all the hell we raised
Then I heard the ol' man say;
God is great, beer is good and People Are Crazy
He said "I fought two wars,
Been married and divorced
"What brings you to Ohio?
He said "Damned if I know"
We talked an hour or two
bout every girl we knew
What all we put them through
Like two old boys will do
We pondered life an death
He light a cigarette
said "These damn things will kill me yet;
But God is great, beer is good and people are crazy"
Last call it's 2am,
I said goodbye to him
I never talked to him again
Then one sunny day,
I saw the old mans face
Front page Obituary,
he was a millionaire He
left his fortune to
some guy he barely knew,
his kids were mad as hell
But me, I'm doing well
And I dropped by today,
to just say thanks and pray,
I left a six-pack right there on his grave
and I said; God is great, Beer is good, and people are crazy.

Hello Kitty

I don't know, I guess she's cute, but dang...she's everywhere! It's a little weird.

So I especially loved this...

Playing in the dirt

Well, Saturday morning we had a little over 3 tons of dirt delivered. An hour later it started to rain. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot done in the yard Saturday. It was an ugly day all the way around. We watched Knowing, w/Nicholas Cage. I liked it until the end. And not because somebody died...it was just so disappointing. I felt cheated out of a good ending, like they just didn't know what to do so they ended it the easy way. And the AC died Saturday. But my husband, who can do ANYTHING, fixed it! Whew! Because I'm a BIG sissy when it comes to the heat.

Sunday we worked our butts off!

Here is the before picture;

And here is the after picture;

We did a great job :-) Especially for a couple old folks!

We also took out the bushes under the windows on the right. They were ugly. Bill found out the hard way that there was a wasp nest in them though! Yup...ouch. The sting on the arm isn't so bad but the one on his face is a little puffy today. I would have cried for sure.

what the...

First, I found this in the paper this morning. There are so many things wrong with this...

The next thing is, I was looking at our vacation photos last night and this picture caught my eye. Can you see why?

Lets take a closer look, shall we?

Do you see it?Is that a butterfly? That is SO weird!

Lime green!

That's my favorite color. I didn't know it for many years though.

It occurred to me a couple years ago ~ Bill was pressuring me to pick a color for the kitchen. I was struggling to find one that we would both like. Finally he said, honey, pick a color, before lunch, or I will. So I picked the first color that appealed to me. It happened to be lime green. Then I started to notice that when I saw things I thought were fun or cute or that I liked, they were lime green! Then I started to look around the house at other things and discovered that I've liked lime green for a very long time!
Wiki says;

Lime green is a color between yellow and green, so named because it is a representation of the color of the citrus fruit called limes. It is the color that is half way between the web color chartreuse and yellow on the color wheel. Lime green is approximately the most visible color on the spectrum because it is corresponds to a wavelength near the peak of the photopic luminosity function

Anyway...today I saw something I liked in the color I like, but they called it Chartreuse. Then I started thinking...lime green isn't really the color of limes.

Limes look like this,
But lime green looks like this,
And apple green looks like this,
And chartreuse looks like this,

And spring green looks like this,I'm so confused now. I guess out of all of these, I like Chartreuse. But I'm going to keep saying lime green :-)

I love Monday

Well, not really. Actually, Saturday is my favorite day of the week. It was a nice 3 day weekend though. I read a book, made some jerky and potato salad. Did some house chores and some artsy fartsy stuff. Oh, and watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Mall Cop. Benjamin Button was the sweetest love story. Mall Cop was totally silly!

And we've had to get more creative about covering up the hole the Woodchuck keeps popping out of. Geez, he's a persistent little booger. You would think after a month of having to re dig your hole, you would move on. There must be something very yummy in our backyard. I would like to get rid of him humanely, but...at this point, he's just got to go.

It rained most of the day Saturday so we passed on the fireworks. The city shot them off anyway. That's okay. Even though I love fireworks, I've seen plenty, so missing one year wasn't that big of a deal.

We got the boy a plane ticket to come home and visit at the end of August. He and Bill are going to the Moto GP race. I'm a little sorry I'm not going but delighted that Bill will enjoy it so much more with a fellow gear head and motorcycle enthusiast. I'm excited he's coming home :-)

Bill said...

he was feeling nostalgic too, after looking at my favorite cartoons. Only problem is, he wasn't a cartoon kind of kid...except for Crusader Rabbit. Huh? I never heard of that one. But I don't want his nostalgia to be overlooked, so here he is folks...

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Why is it so hard sometimes to get out of bed in the morning? Maybe I was already looking forward to the 3 day weekend? Maybe I wasn't looking forward to another day at work filled with the same mind numbing task? Maybe I just went to bed late and didn't get enough Z's?

Whatever...

I'm still sleepy and wishing I was home under the covers.

Even my Friday breakfast didn't help!

But I have Bill's MP3 player with me today, so at least I'll have some tunes to wiggle around in my chair too. That's going to help a lot.

This weekend I think I'm going to paint the kitchen. I finally found a red that we both like. I'm pretty tired of looking at that horrible peach color. Not that I don't like peach, but it's too pink and it looks so blah next to the light maple cabinets. That's about all I have on the agenda other than regular house chores.

Oh, I'm going to make jerky this weekend, and potato salad! Mmmmmmmmmmmm yummy. Maybe we'll go to the movies. I know, I say that a lot, but hey, it could happen!
Oh yeah, and I'm going to finish up the name plates for Chuck Loftons' daughter. Hey, I guess I do have some other things to do!!
