Beeee Happy!

Several people have told me they like my bees and daisies at the top! I wanted it to look more spring like :-) Thanks!!

Friday it's going to be EIGHTY degrees! Whoa. I bet it snows next week. hahahahahaha. I have Friday off so I'm going to love being out and about. Isn't that weird? I work for the state and we get Good Friday off. Hmmm. I'm not complaining but where's the separation?

I did our taxes today and for the first time since the kids left the nest, we don't have to hand over any extra moola. I'm soooo whoopin it up happy that I'm going shopping Friday!!! That's right, by myself. And when my fella says, "that's pretty, have I seen that before" I'll smile and say, "well, I haven't worn it in awhile." Works every time. Oh, sorry if I just gave YOUR secret away too! I'll really be wanting to reward myself after that morning mammogram too. I saw a couple cute sun dresses last weekend. Hmmmm. I might even stop and get myself a Dairy Queen. Mmmmmmm, I love Spring!

Auras and dreams

Nope, not the kind Psychics see. The kind you get if you are a migraine sufferer ~ which apparently I am. I thought for the last couple years that I was having terrible sinus headaches. When they started to make me physically ill, I figured it was something more. I'm pretty smart eh?! Along with some of my migraines, I also have olfactory auras. Your brain can really come up with some strange stuff can't it!? I learned that yesterday when I was diagnosed with migraines instead of a brain tumor ~ which is what I told my doctor I had. Because really, if your head hurts like you're going to die, it must be a brain tumor! Anyway, last weeks migraine was accompanied by the smell of Pierre Cardin men's cologne. It's a nice smell though and it sure made me smile. An old flame of mine used to wear that, 30 years ago. Damn, when did I get that old? I got some sample "miracle" drugs for the next migraine. I hope it works.

All of that brain tumor talk made me have the weirdest dreams last night. Uh huh, about having a brain tumor. Oh, and the old flame who used to wear Pierre Cardin men's cologne. And marrying my husband and having a baby. I'm sure my brain threw that last one in to compensate for dreaming about an old lover. hahahahahaha. I like my brain :-)

Happy Spring!

Hooray! It's officially Spring now and it's raining...go figure. hahahaha.
It was a lovely weekend, weather wise.

We went to the Gun Show on Saturday. What a trip. I don't yet appreciate the differences in guns but I held enough of them to know what I wouldn't want. Some handguns are surprisingly heavy. And the people!!! Hey, that was worth the price of admission right there. I didn't have any expectations ~ I've never been to a gun show. Lots of rednecks and hillbilly hunters, not that that's a bad thing! But lots of regular looking folks and a whole lot more women than you might think. I even saw several families, little kids and all. And cram packed full. I do have to say though, for the most part, they were a surly looking group of human beings. I'm sure it's a Midwest kind of thing. I mean, there probably aren't a lot of rednecks in say, Oregon.
I scored some good points with the man though, for going. He might regret that when I want to go the bead show next weekend.

Mom's condo is officially for sale now! It's a big step. She's been there for 15 years. I live with a fella who gets itchy to move every 3 or 4 years so I can't imagine staying in one place that long. Wait, I CAN imagine that. As a matter of fact, I fantasize about it! But life is an adventure :-) You go Mom!! The perfect place is out there for you.

to LRC

I would quit smoking for you...but I don't smoke!!!!!

:-)

Big hug.

March madness

And check out the cool USA Today sports thingy;

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/2010-03-11-final-four-lucas-oil-field_N.htm

I always forget about March Madness ~ which is dumb because I work in the host city. Goes to show how much I love college hoops :-)

And another thing...Bill said my brother has the attention span of a kitten. Man did that make me laugh, for days!!! Except I've come to realize, he's not the only one. I just discovered last week that the reason it's taking me soooooo long to read a book is the same reason I don't watch a movie that's 3 hours long. I just can't make that kind of commitment! I have the attention span of kitten!!!! Uh oh. I may never get anything finished again!! Aaaaaaagggggghhhhhhh.

.

Surprise!

There's a new study out that says bad moods are catchy. Duh. Really, they had to spend all that time and money on a "study" to prove that? Anyone ever heard the term, if mama ain't happy, nobody is happy?

Also last week, there was an interesting article about a successful small businessman. He claims that his business does well because he's fired all the unhappy people. It's surprising to me that it's taken someone this long to figure out how toxic a whiner and complainer is to business.

Along those same lines, sort of, this Maxine cartoon made me laugh, until I realized I used to know this very person! Now I'm just grateful that I don't :-)

I can't believe it was 72 degrees out yesterday! What a delight. Today is only in the 50's, which is fine too. Last night when I was walking the girls, I saw a lot bulbs popping up. Probably all the Crocus. I love that about Spring, all that freshness and rebirth.

Tonight is another episode of Survivor ~ Heroes vs Villains. What a hoot. But frankly, the heroes just aren't doin' it for me. The Villains are much more entertaining.

I know none of that was terribly interesting, but I haven't posted anything all week...

Onomatopoeia

That's a great sounding word. I like the way some words sound. Like, Guantanamo, Bahama and Botswana. Luminous, mellifluous, melodious, shhh, voluptuous. I like the name Isabella Rossellini and Carrie Ann Inaba. I like the 'wh' words too; when, where, whether, who.

No, I don't know what made me think of that this morning. I mean, I was sitting at home waiting for AAA to come unlock my car and all of a sudden, onomatopoeia popped into my head. I probably heard something outside that made me think of that. Maybe a boom.

By the way, do you have an extra car key? Oh whew! I thought I was the only dumbo without one! ;-) If you don't, hurry and get one. And don't give it to somebody who can't come rescue you. Duh.

Some things are just too short...

and some things are just too long.

Harry Connick Jr. was too short. He played for an hour and a half but I could have listened to him for hours. I love his voice. I love his stories. He is not afraid of being goofy, and he is. It was a wonderful show and so different than the other one we saw. I will see him again when he come to town :-) Even the man, who is very critical of live entertainment, said it was "fabulous". Wow! I'm glad he liked it.

The motorcycle show was (wink wink) terrific! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I won't be volunteering to go next year. We were there for a few hours and one hour would have been good enough for me...too long.

We watched Inglorious Bastards Saturday night. It was too long. It was certainly quirky but more of a guy movie for sure.

Curling, in the Olympics...too long. Although I hear that many many people got sucked in, just like my husband did. Curling was on every stinkin' night! Ugh. If you're a fan, sorry but man am I happy it's OVER!

6 hours of sleep is waaaaaaaay too short, which makes an 8 hr work day waaaaaay too long :-)
