wait, what?!?!

I'm HOW OLD??!! Come on! Seriously?? I'm not saying that. I'm skipping this age. I don't like it. It's yucky.

I was just thinking the other day, I've become a lot more sentimental, with age. I wonder if it's like that for most folks. I've also noticed that I have a lot less patience with people in general. AAAAnd, it's true, I really do have the attention span of a kitten. You should see inside my head when I have some free time! I just don't know what to do!! Right now, on the coffee table, I have a container of paper strips that I'm curling, some paintbrushes and a cup of water for the paint by numbers I started, and a coloring book and colored pencils. Oh, and my tablet for playing games or browsing Pinterest. Good grief! To top it off, I still think I want to learn how to crochet. I need a nap. After the holidays and all that time off, these 5 day work weeks are murder! I need more days to create.

I found this fun article this morning. I like a few of these things!

And I found this article a couple weeks ago...it's about the boy who got up in front of his church and asked somebody to adopt him. I've wondered a few times, what happened to him. Now I know. I like a happy ending :-)

I know there was something else, at least, that I wanted to say, but my kitten brain has gotten in the way...

$ x a billion!

If I win the power-ball, I'll give you a million dollars, just because I can. I wonder how many 'yous' there will be?

Then, I'm gonna go to every state in the U.S., because I always wanted to do that.

Then, I'm gonna buy a farm, with goats. Some of those fainting ones and a bunch of dinky ones, and llamas, and a couple tortoises, and a few horses, and LOTS of dogs! Oh, and flowers everywhere. So I'll have butterflies and hummingbirds. And asparagus.

And I'll have the coolest craft room ever! And it will be a beautiful mess :-) And a library, with a big comfy brown, hand tooled, leather chair.

And I'd buy a Tesla. THE best looking car made!

Yeah, I guess that about covers it. I wish I could think bigger.

See, that was a whole bunch of entertainment right there. All for only two bucks!

stuff I think about

Why don't poinsettias have a fragrance? They should. You would think, with all the bio engineering, et al, they could give poinsettias a fragrance. And I know just what they should smell like...peppermint. Wouldn't that be awesome?? Yeah, peppermint poinsettias. I dig it.

This morning I totally reaped the benefits of retirement. When our weatherman said, the windchill is -7, I said, shit! I have to get gas!! While I was getting ready for work, my retired husband happily changed his clothes and bundled up and went to the gas station to put gas in my car. His retirement really works for me sometimes :-)

I think I forgot to mention that I finally hooked up my Amazon Echo. Do you know what that is? In case you don't;

http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-SK705DI-Echo/dp/B00X4WHP5E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452523513&sr=8-1&keywords=echo

My guy finally relented to giving it a try. IT'S AWESOME! Seriously. Yesterday he asked me about playing music on the Echo. I told him to ask it to play something - he did - it did - he's happy. Also, you can tell it to add things to a to do list or a grocery list and it automatically syncs up to your phone app! For instance, if we're almost out of butter, I can say, "add butter to the grocery list." It does. Now, I can open the app on my phone and click on "grocery list" and low and behold, there's butter! Also, I programmed my work address into the traffic section of the app and now, in the morning, I can ask, "what's the traffic like this morning?" It will tell me where it's slow and approximately how long it will take me to get to work. It really is amazing, just like the Jetsons!

Last night, the missionary girls stopped by for a quick visit. Now that I've told them I'm not going to convert and become a Mormon, their visits are a lot less frequent! They're also less "religious." Anyway, I was asking them about their Christmas and when were their birthdays One girl said, 9/11. Bummer. She said, "yeah, but it didn't really mean anything to me at the time though. I was only 5." FIVE. A couple things went through my head...1, dang, I'm OLD! OMG I'm gonna be fifty SEVEN! What? And then, wow - so 9/11 really doesn't hold any kind of significant value to her. It's just history. Like 12/7/41 is just history to me. I had never thought of it that way. Interesting. 57?!!?!?!

I very rarely play the powerball lottery. A few times, when it's reached a crazy amount, like 200 million plus, I'll buy a couple tickets. But I didn't even buy a ticket to last Saturday's drawing. I guess I probably will now. I mean, 1.3 BILLION!? Holy cow. I'd take a chance for that :-)

Speaking of holy cow, (see what I did there) Indian food is kind of yucky. That was Mom's pick for our dinner out last Friday. To be fair though, it didn't actually suck, but none of us would eat it again. I know what you're thinking, a billion people can't be wrong. I bet though, if you gave them a choice of tacos vs daal bafia, they would totally choose tacos!!!

in the news...

Well now, how do you like this story?!

...it gets better...

This is exactly the kind of bullshit news reporting that continues to divide and conquer this country. I am SO sick of EVERYTHING being about race.

It seems like a pretty basic story to me. The Feds were wrong. They screwed up. So, they should just suck it up. You don't get to say, oh sorry, you have to come back to prison now. That's just ridiculous.
Choose your battles people.
If you're pissed off because they have no regard for the environment, find another, legitimate way, to take them on.

Now this is by far, my favorite story of the new year;

Really. I love a good 'F' you response and this one rocks!

By the way,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
